The program participants, who arrived to Singapore yesterday, are scheduled to meet and interact with government and private sector leaders during the week-long international study program that seeks to provide an intensive learning experience about public policymaking and management practices in Singapore and China.

The DO Study Tour is divided into two parts with the opening half being held in Singapore and the final leg to be hosted by China in Beijing. The Study Tour's opening-day discussions will focus on the topic "Government and Competitiveness" with Professor Neo Boon Siong opening up the session by introducing Singapore's success story to participants. Professor Siong will also talk about dynamic governance in Singapore, while Associate Professor Kenneth Tan will conduct a two-part presentation about national identity and quality of living according to the Singaporean perspective.

Adel Al Shared, Executive Chairman, MBRCLD, said:
"We are pleased to commence another round of the DO Study Tour involving participants of the Promising Leaders level. This activity serves as an important step in strengthening the leadership skills of program participants by exposing them to best practices and effective management systems being adopted by Singapore and China. Moreover, we hope to enhance the diplomatic skills of the Promising Leaders participants through this activity, enabling them to become successful leaders in an increasingly globalised society."

Mohammed Ali albidwawi, Deputy Director Strategies & Excellence Department, Dubai land, and a Promising Leaders level participant said, "I look forward to actively participate in the opening-day discussions of the Singapore leg as I find it interesting to learn how Singapore has developed itself into a highly disciplined and progressive society. Moreover, the knowledge that will be passed on during the discussions will be greatly useful in our own efforts to develop effective policies for Dubai and the UAE."

The DO Study Tour to Singapore and China is being conducted as part of efforts to enhance the capabilities of Promising Leaders level participants in managing Dubai as a global city.
