These included the Nokia 3300, a radically designed new mobile including a digital music player and integrated loudspeaker; and the Nokia 6220, a brand new camera phone featuring high-speed packet-based EDGE connectivity. Nokia also announced the launch of the Nokia Digital Pen, Nokia Image Viewer SU-2, Nokia Add-on Lens CC-49 and the Nokia 810 car phone.

"This year we are proud to bring to market a number of exciting new mobile peripherals as well as two leading-edge phones," said Eddie Maalouf, marketing manager for Nokia Middle East. "We have taken the latest technologies and design concepts and blended them to make some of the most attractive and user-friendly devices. We look forward to distributing these products across the Middle East in coming months."

Nokia 3300
The Nokia 3300 mobile phone is designed specifically for enjoying music. The Nokia 3300 music phone incorporates a portable digital music player (MP3/AAC), a stereo FM radio, a digital recorder, advanced ring tones for an authentic music-like experience and enhanced messaging and games features in a single high quality, fun package. The Nokia 3300 is expected to start shipping in 2nd quarter 2003 in the Middle East.

Nokia 6220
The Nokia 6220 is a classic phone and personal organiser designed for mobile professionals on the go. Featuring an integrated camera, the Nokia 6220 has a classic style with a wide complement of features, including EDGE connectivity, high-quality colour display, JavaTM technology, presence-enhanced contacts and multimedia messaging (MMS). A tri-band (GSM/EDGE 900/1800/1900) mobile device, the Nokia 6220 is expected to start shipping in the Middle East in the third quarter of 2003.

Nokia 810 Car Phone
The Nokia 810 car phone (GSM 900/1800) allows for voice communications and high-speed data in HSCSD and GPRS networks, and also includes a wireless interface supporting the Bluetooth technology. The Nokia 810 is expected to start shipping in the Middle East in the third quarter of 2003.

Nokia Digital Pen
The Nokia Digital Pen can store up to 100 A5 pages in digital format. This can be transferred to a compatible PC by putting the pen in the Connectivity Stand for Digital Pen, which can be connected to a PC via the USB interface. The Nokia Digital Pen can also support the use of services developed by 3rd parties. The Nokia Digital Pen SU-1B is planned to be available in the third quarter of 2003.

Nokia Image Viewer
With the lightweight portable Nokia Image Viewer, Nokia takes MMS usage beyond the mobile phone screen. Users can show and share images from their phones on a TV screen or video projector at home or in the office. Images are transferred wirelessly from a compatible mobile phone to the Nokia Image Viewer using Bluetooth technology. The connection between the Nokia Image Viewer and the TV or video projector is made with a retractable RCA cord. The pictures can be viewed either as single images or as a slideshow. The Nokia Image Viewer SU-2 is planned to be available in the second quarter of 2003.

Nokia Add-on Lens
To take sharp close-up images with the Nokia 3650, users can easily attach the Nokia Add-on Lens to the back of the phone. The Nokia Add-on Lens enables clearer close-up images to be taken at a distance of 5 to 10 centimetres. Changing the lens is hassle-free; simply rotate the lens wheel with one hand. The Nokia Add-on Lens CC-49 is planned to be available in the third quarter of 2003.
