  • PRESS RELEASE

More than 50% of decision makers polled hope to deploy Unified Communications (UC) in their organization within the next year, according to a survey recently conducted by Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The company interviewed key decision-makers from the UAE, Pakistan and Turkey at its recently held CXO Summit in Dubai, to discover their top business priorities and current concerns.

The research showed that 84% of respondents were interested in deploying Unified Communications; 24% want to implement a UC strategy within six months, with a further 36% planning on implementing a UC strategy by 2010.

The study highlighted the top priorities for regional businesses with results showing that companies would like to improve on productivity, increase profits, and speed to market, while strengthening their corporate reputation. In addition, 80% of those surveyed said that they were considering Managed Services as part of their future business strategy.

Top executives from the telecoms, finance and banking, logistics, travel and hospitality, real estate, oil and gas, healthcare and government industries participated in the survey and revealed their interest in the benefits of Unified Communications and confirmed a strong level of confidence in Avaya solutions.

"A pressing concern for organizations is customer loyalty and retention, which we believe can be improved when companies make it easy to for customers and employees to connect using any type of communication application with any device in any location,"

said Roger El Tawil, director of channels and marketing for Avaya in the Emerging Markets region.

"Having Unified Communications means that organizations can integrate their many applications under one single interface, enabling users to respond faster to clients and giving them a competitive edge."

"This latest study has shown us that Middle East organizations require business communications systems to provide flexiblility and consistency for both customers and employees, and can help companies maintain their corporate reputation. To help businesses in all sectors improve productivity in every area of their company, it is important that they have a means to deliver the right applications to the right devices whether it be basic communications or highly collaborative, strategic communications," added El-Tawil.

When selecting a telecom vendor, those interviewed placed service and reliability as the most important qualities with price and local presence also key to the decision process. Avaya's regional presence and advanced IP-based contact center solutions provide regional businesses with improved customer service, seamless application delivery, trouble-free network management and better ROI.

Participating businesses indicated that they had a strong or very relationship with Avaya local management with over 90% confirming that they would recommend Avaya to others.
