From the use of building materials and finishes from sustainable and local sources, ideally obtained within a 30km radius of the property wherever possible, to the quality and origin of the food that is offered - Slow Life creates innovative experiences that not only are fun, but that heighten guests' knowledge of their 'Sixth Sense'.
Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay General Manager Rochelle Kilgariff commented:
"We're deeply committed to the Slow Life moniker and try to incorporate learning aspects into our guests' experience, in all that we do. At the moment we're running the Build a Smile campaign at Zighy Bay where we are committed to the rebuilding of 40 homes in the neighbouring village. What's so special about this, other than the creation of 40 new homes for the local villagers we share our beach with, is that we're giving guests the option to stay an extra night complementary, in exchange for their help with the rebuild. We hope this coupled with the resort experience, enriches our guests' experience."
Reduction of carbon footprints that result from transporting goods over long distances is also a prime component of Slow Life, as is the sourcing of prime produce from local communities. Chemical-free organic options result in more wholesome offerings and enhanced flavours. Keeping guests informed of these initiatives teaches them how to reflect the philosophy into their own lives, and how these intelligent alternatives benefit them individually, and our planet as a whole.
Whilst at Evason Ma'in Hot Springs & Six Senses Spa General Manager Manish Puri says "We're currently cultivating the ground soil in our organic garden where we hope to grow all sorts of wholesome vegetables. This garden too will serve to teach guests of what organic farming is about and how they too can embrace organic living in their everyday lives. In our spa we have unveiled the Slow spa menu - inspired by the historic spice, silk and frankincense routes and the breathtaking natural landscapes of the area. Using high quality, chemical free, indigenous ingredients, spa experiences combine mineralising Dead Sea salts and mud, organic Jordanian extra cold-pressed virgin olive oil, fresh olives, ripe dates and therapeutic thermal waters of the Ma'In springs."
Throughout each Six Senses resort and spa, Slow Life experiences are being delicately weaved into each and every experience. The Six Senses ideal is that guests learn how to incorporate and embrace the Slow Life philosophy to benefit themselves and our planet.
