Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority hosts important tourism buyers in Dubai

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is participating in Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the Middle East's premier travel and tourism event, until May 8.

For this 2009 edition of ATM, Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is the Official Sponsor of the Hosted Buyers Club. This programme, which identifies high-quality buyers in terms of purchasing and decision-making power, gather 150 top international companies, all participating for the first time to Arabian Travel Market.

Attendees include key senior travel purchasing professionals such as tour operators and travel agents from both the local and international region, reflecting the global interest in the event. Coming mostly from Middle East and North Africa for 64% an increasing number of genuinely interested buyers are also coming from Europe (17%) and Asia (13%).

The Buyers Club is ATM's prestigious Business Club for senior travel industry buyers visiting the event, to meet, negotiate and purchase from exhibiting companies. As recognition of their importance within the industry, they are awarded membership to the "Buyers Club". 76% of these buyers are CEOs, Managing directors, owners or partners of their companies.

Speaking on the first day of the event, Mr Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, commented:
