Coral Hotels and Resorts inks its second project in Syria

Coral Hotels & Resorts signed today a management contract for its second hotel in Syria.

The Coral Martini Aleppo is a unique hotel strategically located in the historic city of Aleppo at the main gate greeting visitors from Damascus and Turkey.

Merely 20 kms away from the airport, this 149 room property, spread over 5000 sq metres area, will offer its guests unmatched luxury in stylish and opulent surroundings.

Leading the owner's delegation was Mr Radwan Martini, a former minister in Syria and Mr Rami Martini, the President of Chamber of Tourism in Syria. They were accompanied by Mr Rasin Martini and Mr Mohammad Bashar Martini. Mr Radwan Martini said,

'We are extremely pleased to associate with Coral Hotels & Resorts that has a proven track record and outstanding reputation. We are confident under the Coral management, Coral Martini Aleppo will become a landmark property offering world-class comforts and the signature Syrian hospitality.'

Bolstered by the amount of investment Syria has poured into its burgeoning tourism sector, the tourist numbers have dramatically grown over the last few years.

Mr Michel Noblet, CEO, HMH - Hospitality Management Holdings, said, 'From its ancient ruins to gorgeous souks and citadels, Aleppo is a fascinating city. Budget friendly and totally safe, it is the most sought-after destinations in the region. It is fantastic to be able to sign another great property in this amazing city.'

Syria's determination to develop new markets recently has seen tourist numbers soar. However, like the rest of the world, 2009 has not been an easy year for the country. Michel said, 'It is only a matter of time before Syria swings back and Coral Martini Aleppo is perfectly placed to take advantage of the growing industry.'

Syria's Tourism Ministry confirmed a 15% rise in visitors in 2008, with the figure standing at 5.9m visitors. The World Economic Forum's Global Tourism Competitiveness Report ranked Syria fourth among countries that had improved their tourist performance during 2008, as well as seeing Syria jump to 85th position in the overall global competitiveness list.

Coral Martini Aleppo will be set in 1200sq meters of lush gardens providing a perfect retreat to guests exploring the historical riches of the city. Included in the hotel's portfolio are all categories of rooms: single, double, twin and junior suites.

For those who are looking for special attention and exclusivity there is a dedicated Club Floor featuring the Royal suite, a 140 sq metre suite containing a master bedroom, a standard bedroom, meeting room and dining room. Club floor guests will also have access to the plush VIP Lounge.

The hotel offers its guests full range of facilities including a large 1000 sq metre gymnasium, swimming pool with snack bar and three dining outlets. A big banqueting room, business centre and compact meeting rooms are available for corporate and social functions.

In addition there will be a shopping arcade, bank, airline desk, gift shop and car rental desk. Coral Martini Aleppo will be ready to welcome its guests by mid 2010.
