Energy Management Services partners with Carbonfund.org

Leading by example, EMS aims to leverage the partnership with the pioneering American non-profit organization to transform its Dubai office into a carbon neutral zone.

Carbonfund.org makes it easy and affordable for any individual, business or organization to eliminate its climate impact and hasten the transformation to a clean energy future. Carbonfund.org achieves its goals through offering climate change education; carbon offsets and reductions, as well as public outreach programmes.

As a first step, EMS obtained carbon offsets from Carbonfund.org by calculating its carbon footprint, including energy used in the office, employee commuting (distances and methods), and average business travel for a year.

EMS then donated to Carbonfund.org an amount equalling its carbon contribution for the purchase of carbon offsets. Consequently, EMS' carbon footprint for operations and employee travel of the Dubai office is nullified by projects Carbonfund.org works with to eliminate carbon emissions in another.

Recognized as market leaders and an ideal choice for EMS to use as partners, Carbonfund.org's primary role is to act as a clearing-house of carbon offsets and to ensure that offsets are verifiable and not 'double counted'.
