Six Senses Spas showcases expanding portfolio across Middle East

Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay and newly opened Evason Ma'In Hot Springs and Six Senses Spa incorporate the Six Senses ethos of Slow Life to offer guests life-changing and memorable experiences which surpass the average holiday destination.

Slow Life stands for Sustainable-Local-Organic-Wholesome Learning-Inspiring-Fun-Experiences. Six Senses focus on Slow Life means providing holistic getaway destinations for their guests.

This holistic approach means initially sourcing the most awe-inspiring locations such as Ma'In Hot Springs, Jordan near to the famous Dead Sea and Zighy Bay, nestled in the Musandan Peninsula, Oman to offer the most unique and fulfilling experiences possible.

The Six Senses Spa in Zighy Bay is a holistic oasis, offering nine treatment rooms, a juice bar and two Arabian Hammams, inspired by centuries of tradition. The spa's wide-ranging menu of regional and Six Senses signature treatments focuses on holistic and pampering therapies using only natural products.

Treatments are administered by skilled international therapists and specialist practitioners who combine Eastern and Western techniques with modern day lifestyle programmes to balance the senses.

The newly opened Evason Ma'In Hot Springs and Six Senses Spa offers a truly authentic Arabian experience for guests. The classically designed spa sits against natural hot spring waterfalls that cascade into the main pool and relaxation area.

Focusing on the therapeutic properties of these mineral-rich waters, treatments include healing mineral and deep sea therapies combined with Asian and Six Senses signature treatments - all at the hands of expert therapists.

At both Evason Ma'In and Zighy Bay, along with all Six Senses Spas around the globe, guests can select from a Six Senses 'Slow Life' menu, offering spa treatments using local ingredients, ideally from a radius of 30 km, or less.

Therapy menus take inspiration from traditional local rituals, being transformed into spa treatments unique to their Six Senses locations.

Evason Ma'In's proximity to the Dead Sea location has given rise to mineral-rich dead sea salt scrubs and the Zeytoun Olive Body Polish which uses Zeytoun olives, found in the local area and which are used in traditional Jordanian cuisine.

Zighy Bay offers truly unique Arabian experiences including Moroccan Hammam treatments, bathing rituals and signature massages, all using local ingredients and drawing on thousands of years of ancient tradition.

The treatments embrace Six Senses Spas' Balancing Senses philosophy; founded on the belief that a true spa experience may only be fulfilled once all five senses have been nurtured - with the Slow Life awakening the sixth sense.

An increased demand in the spa industry, particularly in the GCC region has led to the rapid and organic expansion of the Six Senses offering over the past 18 months, which looks set to continue.

In addition to Zighy Bay and Ma'In, Six Senses portfolio includes Six Senses Doha, Qatar - currently the largest spa in the Middle East at 70,000 square feet.

Six Senses Spas recently signed a partnership agreement to operate a world-class spa at the Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat, set to open in 2011 and upcoming spas include Abu Dhabi Airport and Port Ghalib in Egypt - all of which demonstrate a winning formula of localising the spa experience, to offer guests an enriching and unique spa journey.
