These meetings serve to advocate for amending institutional policies for small/medium enterprises.
Mr.Laith Qasem, a YEA board member, presented on behalf of Sawtouna the Temporary Business License research paper findings and then held an open discussion with the YEA members and guests in attendance.
His Excellency Ammer Hadeedi and several parliamentarians provided positive feedback on the importance of creating a licensing and registration guidebook, which includes the various procedures and steps for entrepreneurs to approach registering and licensing their businesses.
Different guidebooks will be created for each sector as registration procedures vary. Sawtouna stressed that the guidebook is necessary to start the implementation of temporary business licenses.
In order to outline the necessary procedures for each sector, the research paper results will be sent to various government officials involved in licensing and registration, as well as stakeholders from the private sector.
"We are excited to get the Ministry of Industry and Trade and members of parliament to support easing the licensing process for young entrepreneurs. We also hope to gain the support of various government officials as temporary business licensing will certainly help business startups in Jordan,"
stated Karma Khalidi, Sawtouna's Head of Programs.
