Treasure your family memories with HP's new family of DVD writers

The new internal HP dvd writer dvd300i and external HP dvd writer dvd300e, with fast recording speeds of up to 4x make DVD recording even more accessible to consumers and small businesses alike.

HP also introduced new 4x DVD+R write-once media, extending HP's line of affordable digital media designed for recording information.

Burning in a Flash
The new HP DVD writers offer the industry's fastest DVD write speeds of 4x2.4x8x. With 4x recording it now takes less than 15 minutes to write a full 4.7GB write-once DVD+R disc, the equivalent of three hours of digital video. Users also benefit from CD recording speeds of 16x10x40x.

Create your own Video
The latest ArcSoft Showbiz DVD software, version 1.3, is included with the HP dvd writer 300 series, making digital video creation extremely simple, even for first-time users. The software lets users quickly and easily transfer video footage to their PCs and create professional-quality videos and presentations on DVD. With a single user interface for video capturing, authoring and editing, only a few steps are needed to create a digital video from start to finish.

"With these new DVD Writers, HP is making DVD recording simple and affordable. Now you can create impressive home movies to share with the family. "Until recently, DVD recording was often considered the preserve of digital video enthusiasts and professionals, but since the massive uptake of digital camcorders and DVD players, interest in digital video has never been higher."

A DVD writer in the home opens up a myriad of possibilities for all the family. You can create digital home movies - recording, editing and storing up to three hours of home film on one DVD - or save your favourite VHS films to DVD for a more robust, reliable format. If your PC is equipped with a TV tuner, you can even record top TV moments straight to your PC DVD drive. With a DVD writer you can convert traditional photos to digital format, or simply download photos from a digital camera, storing thousands of digital snaps on one DVD. For music fans, a DVD writer enables you to create your own CD, store hundreds of MP3 music files on one DVD, or copy CDs to one DVD for easy storage and transport. HP's new high performance write-once optical DVD media stores up to 4.7GB of video, photos, music and data files with write speeds of 1x, 2.4x or 4x. Furthermore, it offers maximum compatibility with DVD players & DVD-ROM drives as well as protection from accidental erasure or deletion.

Availability
The new HP (internal) dvd writer dvd300i and (external) dvd300e are available through HP-authorized resellers and retailers in March.

About DVD+RW/+R
The HP DVD writers use DVD+R/+RW technology, which means that DVD discs created with these HP DVD writers can be played on both DVD-video and DVD-ROM drives. The DVD+R/+RW media are also compatible with most of the DVD players and DVD drives already installed in homes and businesses, giving you peace of mind that you can share discs with friends and family.
