Taking place over four days from Wednesday 21 to Saturday 24 October at the Doha Exhibition Center, Qatar's only major furniture and design exhibition open to both trade and public visitors will attract 130 key exhibitors and sponsors eager to win business in the $40bn Qatari residential and commercial interior design market.
"Design & Furniture today is unique, edgy, and inventive. INFDEX showcases the newest products to motivate and inspire you. You'll experience the best in the industry today, and what's on the horizon. INFDEX '09 is the place where you'll find it all," says Mr. Karim Zarka, CEO for organizer Qatar Expo.
Among exhibitors booking response has already been strong, with many repeated bookings from last year as well as new companies signing up to take part and win business with more than 300 office, residential, hotel, hospital, school and other projects now under development in Qatar.
Just some of the high profile furniture designers taking part in 2009 are Italian design house S. Clairy, worldwide bedroom furniture stylists Sealy, Lebanon's Mosaic Marbles and a host of local design trendsetters led by Khazana, Fine Art Furniture, Pergola Design and Zordy.
"We provide the very best in Italian Furniture design to architects, designers and direct customers. We hope to establish successful and effective relationships in the Qatari market and we can offer Qatari customers the most exclusive designs and a bespoke service," said a spokesperson for the Italian Furniture Association.
In 2008, the INFDEX Creative Awards were hugely popular, with many participants seeing tremendous success as a direct result of exhibiting. Good news is that INFDEX '09 will feature four new awards to reward the creativity of exhibitors, local and regional designers: Best Innovative Designed Stand INFDEX '09, Best Environmental (Green) Stand INFDEX '09, and Best Use of Stand Space INFDEX '09.
"Sponsors and judges will be looking for innovative ideas that really work in attracting visitors to step into the exhibition stands," says Karim Zarka.
In addition, the unique Best Young Designer INFDEX '09 is an innovative competition looking to discover and reward talented young, local designers. The prizes given away at the end of the competition are sponsored by Qatari Diar for the second consecutive year.
