Saudi Quality Council marks its 15th Anniversary

A symposium was held last week in Meridian Jeddah to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Saudi Quality Council.

More than 300 delegates attended the session. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the 15th anniversary and to recognize individual candidates who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Quality and Profes¬sional Development in Saudi Arabia during the year 2008.

The winners were:


1. Mr. Muhammad Asim Baig, Group Business Process Reengineering Manager - Abdullah Fouad Holding & President MEQMP
2. Mr. Abdulaziz Mutairi, AGM/Chief Performance Offi¬cer, the Centennial Fund
3. Mr. Ala' Naeem Owaidah, Continuous Improvement & Logistic Manager, Savola Packaging Systems

The event started with the speech from Dr. Ayed T Alari, director - Saudi Quality Council (Western Region), who gave a brief about 15 years of SQC journey. A documentary was also shown. The honorary guest was Eng. Nabil Bin Amin Mulla who is the Governor of Saudi Standards and Quality Organization for Saudi Arabia.

He appreciated the efforts done by SQC for the last 15 years announced some new courses of Quality in KAUST. Key note speaker was Prof. Mohamed Zari whao gave an excellent presentation on Future of Quality and explained the new vision and dimensions of quality. The presentation was highly appreciated by the delegates. The meeting was followed by dinner and networking.

Saudi Quality Council (Western Region) is a Non-Profit & Non-Governmental Organization sponsored by the Engineering Committee, Saudi Arabia and operating for the last 15 years with 1500 plus Quality Professional as Individual Members and more than 2 dozen Corporate Members with a mission to: advance individual and organizational performance excellence by providing opportunities for learning, quality improvement and knowledge exchange.
