Majed Al Suwaidi, Director of Commercial Operations, DIC, welcomed the consultants, while Faisal Hammoud, Commercial Operations Manager, offered a presentation on DIC's operational procedures for prospective Business Partners wishing to register at the free zone.
Al Suwaidi said:
"The DIC Commercial Operations team was developed to complement the dynamic business environment of Dubai. Over the years, we have worked with consultants in the legal, audit and management fields, and consider them as key players for facilitating many of our business partners' aim of setting up operations at the free zone."
"We would like to continue this relationship with the consultants who can support their clients with a better understanding of the current procedures prior to setting up base at the region's leading technology cluster."
Following the presentation, Al Suwaidi joined Hesham Almiri, Executive Director, Customer Support Services and Mohammed Sherif Executive Director for Licensing, Leasing and Compliance at TECOM Investments in an interactive Q&A session.
Murad Abida, Partner at Hadef and Partners, who attended the session, said: "DIC's workshop and networking sessions have always served as valuable tools for the cluster's stakeholders. This programme for TECOM's consultants has started off as a timely initiative and we are confident it will prove a useful platform not just to understand how legal and other service providers can help attract investors but as a vital resource to better co-ordinate with the support sources, ultimately giving DIC a competitive edge."
Dubai Internet City currently hosts around 1,400 companies at the technology free zone serving some of the world's leading ICT companies.
In December 2008, Dubai Internet City won the prestigious fDi (Foreign Direct Investment) magazine's 'Best Hi-tech Free Zone 2008-2009' Award, firmly reiterating its status as a leading global destination for technology companies.
