The Hayatuna Medical Care Plan, available for a monthly premium as low, offers a maximum coverage of RO10,000 for treatment of critical illnesses, including heart attack, cancer, kidney failure, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis, stroke and coronary artery by-pass surgery.

Notably, no medical check-up is required prior to signing up for the Hayatuna product and beneficiaries can opt for critical illness treatment at any hospital of their choice anywhere in the world.

Eliminating procedural complications in medical insurance claims, Hayatuna guarantees timely assistance for critical illness treatment. The policy also does away with standard Critical Illness requirement of having a post-diagnosis survival period.

"A complicated medical insurance product is the last thing a beneficiary can put up with while making a claim for treatment of critical illness. Taking into consideration the requirement to simplify the medical insurance claim process, Hayatuna guarantees immediate sanction of funds even without submission of medical bills. Hayatuna beneficiaries can rest assured to face the unexpected as the insurance plan supports without complicating life during a crisis," Sulaiman Al Harthy, Group DGM, Consumer Banking, said.

Al Harthy added, "Through Bancassurance, BankMuscat has always worked towards offering simple, cost effective and relevant insurance products to customers. These factors have been instrumental in the success of the Group Life insurance product - Hayatuna Family Protection Plan. Further expanding the strength and recall that brand Hayatuna has developed for itself, BankMuscat is now introducing Hayatuna Medical Care Plan."

Through Hayatuna medical policy, BankMuscat seeks to address the strong need for an effective financial assistance for treatment of critical illnesses in Oman. Every year, more than 50,000 people travel outside Oman for medical treatment incurring heavy cost. Also, the group medical insurance available to employees is often found to be inadequate as they carry restrictions on coverage and benefits.

BankMuscat is the first bank in the Sultanate and only the third in the GCC to provide a medical insurance product for treatment of critical illnesses. Hayatuna Medical Care Plan is exclusively available for all BankMuscat account holders, including expatriates, aged between 18 and 65 years. Upon diagnosis of any of the listed ailments, expenses can be immediately claimed for treatment anywhere in the world.

Hayatuna Medical Care Plan is available across the counter through all the branches of Bank Muscat.
