Sheikh Mohammed to honor Arab Journalism Award winners tomorrow

As part of his initiatives to encourage excellence in the field of Arab media, especially its journalism component, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai will honor the winners of the 8th edition of the Arab Journalism Award tomorrow.
The distribution of the Award is one of the preeminent media events in the media sector in the Arab world, being a landmark initiative to recognize and honor journalistic excellence and talent in the region.
The Arab Journalism Award, which has been executed by Dubai Press Club since its inception, consists of 12 categories, in addition to the Media Personality of the Year.
Business/Economic Journalism, Cultural Journalism, Health Journalism, Cartoons, Journalism for Children, Sports Journalism, Environmental Journalism, Newspaper Columns, Political Journalism, Press Photography, Information Technology Journalism and Investigative Journalism are the categories.
Arab Journalism Award - instituted in 1999 as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum - aims at encouraging healthy competition among journalists to excel in their work.
The execution of the award program is overseen by a governing board comprising a number of eminent media experts in the Arab world.
The Award provides the journalists in the region an opportunity every year to present their best works for consideration for the prize and to compete with their counterparts from elsewhere in the region.
The award program has consistently promoted healthy competition among media organizations in the region toward attaining newer heights of professional excellence and commitment.
