Wataniya Airways announces five weekly flights to Damascus from June 3rd

Wataniya Airways, the new premium service airline to be established in the Middle East in recent years, announced the launch of its latest destination to the historic city of Damascus with five weekly flights starting from the 3rd of June 2009.

The airline, which is headquartered in Kuwait, was able to add this popular destination to its network of routes following an agreement made with the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority.

Wataniya Airways is expecting to receive its third Airbus A320 aircraft in Kuwait within the third week of May and this additional aircraft will enable the airline to dramatically increase the frequency and destinations of its flights. Damascus is one of the most popular destinations for Kuwait based travellers and seat bookings can be made with immediate effect.

Mr. Abdulsalam Al Bahar, Chairman and Managing Director of Wataniya Airways, said:
"I'm thrilled that we have secured the air traffic rights to fly to Damascus International Airport and that we are able to announce this during our first official AGM since we were listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange as this is a testimony to our significant achievements to date. Syria has held close ties with Kuwait, both politically and economically and we are delighted to be able to offer our guests the chance to fly with our premium service to this destination."


Wataniya Airways ticket bookings can be made using a range of convenient methods; calling the Guest Contact Centre on 118 or 24379999; via the website or through a preferred travel agent.

The schedule for flights to Damascus (available from 3rd of June 2009) is:

- KW 3000 Departure KWI 07:00 Arrival DAM 09.20 Days of operation 1.0.3.4.0.6.7.

- KW 3001 Departure DAM 10:20 Arrival KWI 12:20 Days of operation 1.0.3.4.0.6.7.
