Learning by bridging different cultures: extended tourism cooperation for Qatar with Asian partners

Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority is enthusiastically acting as one of the main ambassadors for Qatar, raising awareness about Qatar's tourism strategy towards new Asian partners.

Mr Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, met with Mr Ryoji Iwama, Deputy Head of Mission of the Japanese embassy in Qatar.

They discussed full mean of collaboration to raise the interest of Japanese people for Qatar. Going beyond governmental cooperation, they discussed the mean to involve the private sector of both countries to discover each other culture and identity. The relations between people of the two countries will soon be even eased with the opening of a new Qatar Airways' direct route to Tokyo next year.

Mr Al Nuaimi invited, through Mr Iwama, his counterparts of the Japanese Tourism Authority to come to Qatar and discover the hospitality and culture of the Qatari bustling business destination.

Japan is set to be a stage of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's future roadshow to promote Qatar as an incontrovertible upscale destination, known for its independent spirit, its progressive orientation towards the world, while having preserved its traditional essence of hospitality and warmth.

The potential signature of MoU to exchange expertise between the two countries has been discussed, as a step further to know better the other social customs and expertise.

Mr Al Nuaimi also received Mr Sung-Khan Moon, Counselor of the South Korean Embassy in Qatar, to enhance the new steps of Qatar's tourism strategy and the way Korea and Qatar could partner in the tourism sector.

Among other cooperation activities, a Memorandum of Understanding to exchange training and expertise between the Middle Eastern and the Far Eastern country was raised.

"Qatar is a country with an open-mind. We raise interest in Qatar thanks to our progressiveness, by learning from other's experiences. We maintain our identity while gladly sharing it with our guests, to help them understand the uniqueness of our country,"

commented Mr Al Nuaimi, during speaking about these fruitful meetings.
