SNAS/DHL continues solid growth as undisputed courier company in the Kingdom

  • Saudi Arabia: Saturday, December 22 - 2001 at 14:15
  • PRESS RELEASE

DHL Worldwide Express is proud to be Asia's most admired company in the shipping / transport industry.

The world's leading air express company was ranked 14th in "Asia's Most Admired Company" survey (AMAC), commissioned by Asian Business. The survey places DHL's ranking higher than any other company in the shipping, transport and air express industries.

Commenting on the accolade, Mr. Marc Duale, Chief Operating Officer of DHL Asia Pacific said, "DHL is delighted to be one of the most respected companies in the region. We are, as always, honoured to be acknowledged by Asian Business in this survey and I would like to thank my colleagues throughout the region for their hard work and commitment which is central to this success."

Last year, DHL was ranked within the top 40 companies in the AMAC survey and was, again, the highest ranking company in the shipping / transport industry. This year's big leap to 14th place is a reflection of the company's focus on continuous quality improvement and service expansion, as well as its investment in infrastructure and people. As such, DHL has seen expanding business volumes and a broadening of its market leadership status.

"While DHL is proud of this achievement, we are not resting on our laurels. DHL is strongly committed to investing in the future to strengthen our network, infrastructure and service channels. That is why we are injecting nearly US$300 million to enhance our ground infrastructure in Asia Pacific. By doing this, DHL is confident that our ability to focus on our strongest business streams and introduce appropriate products and services will enable us to weather any economic difficulties."

Harlis Malkic, SNAS/DHL Country Manager added, "SNAS/DHL is proud of this achievement which is another feather in the Company's cap. DHL has a clear corporate philosophy which is to continue investing heavily in developing both a robust infrastructure and a dedicated client base. This makes us the courier company of choice and one of the most respected enterprises worldwide. In the Kingdom, SNAS/DHL will continue investing and upgrading its services to maintain its position as the undisputed courier company in the Kingdom with approximately a 50% marketshare."
