World Economic Forum chooses Royal Jordanian as its official carrier

The World Economic Forum (WEF), to be held at the Dead Sea between May 15 and 17, 2009, adopted Royal Jordanian as its official carrier for the fifth time since its first meeting in Jordan in 2003.

Jordan was found an ideal location for this important international meeting and Royal Jordanian, a leading airline in the Middle East, was selected in appreciation of its solid international reputation for quality service and extensive route network. The forum has had previous experience with RJ in handling this event.

The partnership between RJ and WEF has the advantage of granting facilities to the WEF participants and employees from all over the world, over and above the facilities offered at Queen Alia International Airport.

It also involves RJ staff members giving assistance during the days of the meeting, manning sales and reservation services at the forum and linking RJ website to the WEF's Internet page. The forum's administration will be using RJ's name and logo on all the documents, printouts and brochures for the forum.

RJ is keen to sponsor the forum, the biggest global, economic and political event in the region, which has, on its agenda, the most important global issues brought about by the economic crisis. It will help lay out development programs and plans to effect a structural change that has positive impact on various sectors worldwide, and, particularly, RJ's objectives and vision of encouraging business tourism and drawing the world's attention to the kingdom.

The forum, no doubt, has chosen RJ to sponsor its conferences because the airline serves a wide route network that covers 56 direct destinations and more than 700 cities on four continents, served by the airlines of oneworld alliance, on which RJ is a member. This membership enabled passengers traveling onboard RJ to reach all cities served by the alliance with only one stop in Amman.

The company has a fleet of modern aircraft and offers new services, such as mobile and Internet services onboard its flights. The company was most recently granted the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) award, the Air Cargo Excellence Award and the ISO 9001:2008 certification. It also just had the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate renewed.
