Today's airports comprise increasingly complex infrastructure incorporating a vast array of services, from passenger and freight transport to e-commerce (and e-tickets) and connections with other means of transport. This calls for advanced security solutions to ensure optimum protection for passengers and goods.
Thales will be spotlighting its following solutions in Dubai:
- Security supervision: the progressive convergence between defence and security requirements has prompted the need for new technologies and solutions that enable airport operators to share existing information and communication systems whilst also ensuring the traceability of individuals and the protection of networks and infrastructures.
- Border surveillance: the free circulation of citizens requires the implementation of open, secure integrated systems. Thales ID document production and control systems are in operation in over 25 countries and have generated more than 200 million documents and captured more than 150 million digital fingerprints to date.
- Access control: Thales designs and implements control systems that manage employee and user access control whilst maintaining maximum fluidity at entrance and exit points. These solutions also offer biometric capability, such as biometric fingerprint readers or face recognition for access to critical areas.
With over 1,000 experts based in the region and Integration Centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Kuwait, Thales has an extensive presence throughout the Middle East. The company's numerous references in the region include Dubai International Airport, Doha Airport, the Dubai Metro and the North-South rail link in Saudi Arabia. Thales has also provided security solutions for the Mecca pilgrimage as well as security systems for oil & gas facilities in Saudi Arabia.
