Batelco sponsors seminar on management of sickness absence

Batelco, as part of its commitment to Health initiatives in the Kingdom, has sponsored a seminar organized by the Bahrain Occupational Health Association.

The seminar, titled 'Management of Sickness Absence', which took place recently at the Gulf Hotel, was held under the patronage of Minister of Health H.E. Dr. Faisal Bin Yaqoob Al Hamar.

Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Nadia Hussain presented the sponsorship cheque for BD4000 to Bahrain Occupational Health Association President Dr. Jaffar Al Taraif and Bahrain Occupational Health Association Secretary Dr. Mohammed Saleh A. Latif, at a meeting at Batelco Headquarters in Hamala.

The 'Management of Sickness Absence' seminar was attended by a large number of doctors and representative of several companies and government ministries in Bahrain, to discuss the growing issues of absenteeism in the workplace and its implication on business. During the event a number of recommendations were suggested to minimize the problem within Bahrain's government and private sectors.

Batelco's Group Human Resources General Manager Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa, who attended the seminar, said he was very impressed with the outcome of the event.

"The amount of time lost through staff absenteeism is a growing problem for all companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Bringing a number of key people together at the seminar to discuss the issues at hand proved to be very beneficial and led to a number of recommendations being suggested to improve the problem,"


said Shaikh Ahmed.
