Airport Show, held at the Airport Expo Dubai, from 19-21 May, is one of the largest airport construction, operations, technology and services events in the world. Northrop Grumman will be exhibiting at Stand CD 13.

Airtight uses data from existing airport sensors and infrastructure to create a common operating picture which can then be shared with the emergency services and first responders, resulting in a significantly enhanced security operating environment.

The sensor fusion capabilities of Airtight include integrating not only traditional motion sensors and cameras but also the installed base of field-proven Northrop Grumman technologies such as surveillance radar and surface movement guidance and control systems (SMGCS) to offer a complete operational picture.

"Airport operations are increasingly subject to disruption and may be affected by a range of possible security threats from criminal activity to breaches of external perimeter security which can impose a substantial burden on airport resources,"
said Paul Davison, Managing Director of Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector in Europe.

"Our Airtight solution offers airport operators a cost efficient path to strengthening security awareness throughout restricted and controlled zones, with minimum additional burden on existing resources," he added.

Airtight provides a multi-layered and scalable solution that offers a range of airport security capabilities from threat analysis, detection and assessment, through to planning and directing the actions of first responders.

It exploits customers' existing security assets, including cameras, motion sensors and access control systems, whilst offering a flexible growth path for upgrades and the introduction of new technologies as and when they are required.

Northrop Grumman's subsidiary Park Air Systems will be also be displaying its range of air traffic management solutions from across the company's communication, navigation and surveillance product lines.

This will include the PAE T6 VHF/UHF multimode digital radio and the GAREX 220 voice communication control system. The surveillance equipment on display will include the NOVA 9000 air traffic control systems for tower and approach control, air traffic control centres and advanced-surface movement guidance and control systems (A-SMGCS).
