A two-day event was held in Dubai entitled 'Employment and Business Opportunities: the Middle East Forum', organized by the Philippine government. Nawras was honored to be acknowledged particularly as the company's stated mission is to be the best communications provider and employer of choice in Oman.

Nawras was represented by Chief People Officer, Mohammed Al-Ghailani, who received the award from Her Excellency, on behalf of the entire Nawras team.

This was the first time for Nawras to receive such a tribute from the President of a country and naturally, everyone in the Nawras team felt immensely proud. Once again, this award winning company has shown how it continues to be pleasingly different both for customers and employees.

After meeting the President, Al-Ghailani said,

"We feel very honored to receive this award in recognition of our response and professional way of working. High standards at Nawras make it a favorite place to work for nationals and international employees alike."

During the forum, Al-Ghailani was invited to address the gathering and introduce the Sultanate of Oman to the international audience assembled for the award giving.

Nawras cares for customers by recognizing that needs vary within the community so offers give different choices to suit different people, meeting a diverse range of needs. This can be seen with the example of Nawras giving 10% discount when calling abroad with the 'Favorite International Number' bundle. Customers can choose their favourite two countries and receive this great value discount every time they call, for just RO1 fee per month.

Nawras has recently also been honored with the title of Best Telecom Brand Oman 2008 as well as receiving first prize for Telecommunication Services at the Pan Arab Web Awards. The latter event also saw CEO Ross Cormack named as Telecommunication Man of the Year.
