Arab Academy for Research and Studies hold annual meeting

Present were founders, shareholders and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the External Auditors.

Dr, Abdulla Al-Hawaj, the Managing Director of the Arab Academy for Research and Studies, delivered the Directors' Report, covering the period from 1st January to 31st December 2008. The report reviewed the most important initiatives and accomplishments of Ahlia University during the period under review.

The external auditors then presented their report focusing on verification of certain details of the final accounts. The General Assembly approved the recommendations of the Board of Directors concerning budgetary allocations.

The General Assembly then elected new members of the Board for the next three years
( 2009 -2012).

The AGM elected the following members to serve as directors in the new Board:

Mr. Abdulrazak Al Qassim
Prof. Abdulla Al Hawaj
Mr. Khalid Janahi
Mr. Zamil Al Mokrin
Dr. Ali Al Aradi
Dr. Jaffer Al-Tarif
Mr. Saud Al-Asqar
Ms. Fawzia Zainel
Mr. Mohammed Al Naqi
Ms. Layla Al Oraifi

Later, the Board elected Mr. Farooq Al Moayyed as Chairman, Mr. Abdulrazak Al Qassim, as Deputy Chairman and Prof. Abdulla Al Hawaj as Managing Director.

The Board also decided to establish an executive committee chaired by Mr. Abdulrazak Al Qassim with Prof. Abdulla Al Hawaj, Mr. Mohammed Al Naqi, Mr. Zamil Al Mokrin and Mr. Saud Al-Asqar as members of the Executive Committee.
