Coca-Cola supports De La Salle Al Quds Jerusalem at Arab Basketball Championship

The 22nd Arab Basketball Championship, which ended in Beirut last week, saw active participation from the De La Salle Al Quds team from Palestine, under the team's new two-year contract with with the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola in Palestine.

The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola has played an important part in supporting and encouraging sports in the Palestinian territory for the past 10 years, including sponsoring the National Palestinian football selection team for 5 years.

Mr. Antoine Tayyar, Public Affairs and Communication Director for Coca-Cola Middle East, declared:
"Coca-Cola believes in the role of corporate citizens in supporting sports activities. We work in coordination with local associations in more than 200 countries where Coca-Cola operates to support sports because we believe that activity is at the heart of healthy, positive communities."


He added, "we congratulate De La Salle Al Quds club for their efforts and for persevering with their focus and determination despite the difficulties they face."

Coca-Cola invited the team and as well as the Palestinian Union to a dinner in their honor in the presence of the Presidents of the Palestinian and Lebanese Basketball Union, and the representative of the Palestinian Embassy, Mr. Maher Moushaal.

Finally, the Vice-President of De La Salle club expressed his appreciation to National Beverages Company Coca-Cola in Palestine for their sponsorship, and offered a commemorative plate to Mr. Tayyar and Mr. Kakhia.
