Etisalat leads debate on converged services at Quadplay Conference

Etisalat's Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Nasser bin Obood, led the agenda at last week's Quadplay and Beyond Conference, which was organized by the Etisalat Academy and took place at its facilities in Dubai.

In his presentation, Nasser bin Obood set the scene for future of the telecommunications sector and presented a vision for the future convergence of applications, content, network infrastructure and access devices.

Nasser bin Obood said:
"As markets develop and alternative ways of accessing the same services are introduced through new technology innovations, the provision of convenient, tailored and attractive bundles of services will become important to ensure the operator remains competitive. As such Quadplay is one strategy which operators must consider for the future."


Bin Obood was joined by representatives from the twelve foremost technology firms world wide, including Alcatel Lucent, Qualcomm, SoftAtHome, Avaya, LG-Nortel, Motorola, Ericsson, Huawei, Juniper, Kineto, Telcordia and Zhone.

The Etisalat Academy is a single source provider of professional learning, open to the wider business community. Its sheer size and location, nestled amongst the palm trees in Al Muhaisnah, Dubai makes it unique within the region. Learning is divided into three areas, Government Development, Leadership Development and Telecommunications & IT.
