Visitors will be able to see first-hand how ABB's i-bus EIB/KNX technology can integrate with Miditec's access control solution and Bang & Olufsen's award-winning entertainment system thanks to an attractive hotel room set-up at stand no. 1D125 in Zabeel Hall 1.

"Imagine the delight of your guests when they check into their room or suite and discover that one remote control easily operates all electric functions, room access, lighting, heating, air-conditioning, alarms and the entire entertainment system in every room. Well, with our collective solutions you won't have to imagine,"
said the three companies in a joint statement.

ABB i-bus EIB/KNX technology controls all application inside a modern hotel guest room and is one of the most widely used intelligent building control system in the world. The technology is currently installed in top hotels across the Middle East, including the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, La Cigale Hotel in Doha, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Alexandria.

"ABB's i-bus EIB/KNX technology has been proven to increase energy efficiency and has reduced energy bills significantly for hotels around the globe," revealed Tarek Zakaria, intelligent building technology manager for ABB. "Therefore, if you want your hotel to achieve the coveted smart status in the Middle East, ABB's i-bus solution is a must for your hotel."

The ABB i-bus system acts as a hub and can connect with Bang & Olufsen's entertainment system and Miditec's MTZ access control solution - a modular, expandable system for guests and staff that can be integrated easily into a complex security-system. Miditec's system can work with ABB's i-bus control to set the entire system to 'Welcome' mode as soon as the guest arrives.

"Offering high-end security products to banks and airports makes Miditec the perfect partner for hotels as well," revealed Katrin Foerster, international sales manager for hotel security at Miditec Datensysteme GmbH (Germany).

"For example, one solution we offer to hotels includes an access control for guest rooms, complete with CCTV and a top-notch burglar alarm system. More importantly, we can attractively integrate our hotel access readers into ABB's top-notch i-bus technology, and include additional features such as indication lights for 'Do-not-Disturb', 'Make-up-room' and the door knob if required. This is a testament to how much we care about function, comfort and design," Katrin added.

On the entertainment front, Bang & Olufsen's system consists of a uniquely design television, audio system and loudspeakers, which collectively deliver perfect picture quality in any light or location and perfect audio even from the most compact cabinets and televisions.

"Our extensive product range incorporates a huge diversity of colors, sizes, designs, flexible placement options, opening a myriad of interior design possibilities for rooms, suites and public spaces. You decide whether the products are to make discreet or eye-catching statements,"
stated Bang & Olufsen's Anders Mørup, International Key Account Manager Hospitality for MEA.

All three systems can be configured directly via ABB's sleek-looking touch screen panel or via a user-friendly remote control, developed by Bang & Olufsen. More importantly, all the systems feature the same sleek, black design, ensuring a consistent look and feel throughout the room.
