The Phaser 8860MFP allows businesses of any size to gain an edge in today's competitive business environment by making professional-looking color documents while working in a way that has less impact on the natural environment.

The Xerox Phaser 8860MFP color multifunction printer features the most recent generation of Xerox's proprietary solid ink technology.

The new crayon-like ink sticks have been developed to last longer than ever before. By increasing the total number of color pages the ink sticks produce, Xerox has drastically reduced the price of color printing. When comparing the total cost of ownership of the new device with MFPs of other manufacturers, it is almost half as expensive.

Dan Smith, Manager for Integrated Marketing for the Middle East and Africa region of Xerox's Developing Markets Operations said:

"We understand from our customers that high-quality color documents are a must to support their businesses, but costs are also a serious consideration. Xerox's solid ink technology combines the benefits of color with affordability. The Phaser 8860MFP reduces the cost of color and total cost of ownership while extending the productive advantages of our color MFP to customers - who also then reap the environmental benefit of solid ink."

The Phaser 8860MFP is designed for virtually any business with print volumes between 1,000 and 10,000 pages per month. Its color-optimized architecture delivers speed in color printing, copying, scanning and faxing.

From real estate and design agencies to mid-sized marketing departments, the device is ideal for companies and enterprise workgroups that depend on color to create proposals, collateral and reports, as well as everyday documents such as e-mail and spreadsheets.

Xerox's cartridge-free solid ink sticks are simply dropped into the color-coordinated ink trays. They are shaped specially to fit in the correct loaders in the device and they can be topped up at any time to reduce down time to a minimum. The solid ink sticks require minimal packaging and generate 90% less waste than comparable laser printer consumables.

With print speeds as fast as 30 pages per minute in color and black and white, a 750 MHz processor, 512MB memory and true Adobe PostScript3, the Phaser 8860MFP produces color prints that are Pantone color approved, meaning the image quality matches the tough standards of Pantone's color system. Automatic two-sided printing and N-up printing, which enables users to print multiple pages onto one, allow more images to fit on a single sheet of paper.

Industry-leading optical character recognition (OCR) software in the Phaser 8860 MFP allows documents to be scanned and converted to digital format, saving users both time and money.

The Phaser 8860MFP can scan with a speed of 22ppm and has two scanning software options Scan to PC Desktop® Professional Small Business Edition and Scan to PC Desktop SE Small Business Edition that allow users to scan directly to desktop, to e-mail and PC.

The new device has a copy speed of 22 ppm in color and black and white and first-copy-out time as fast as 15 seconds. The copy feature allows creating and copying booklets, repeat image and collation.
