The four-day event was aimed at helping the business community identify new methodologies and cutting edge practices to further develop the region's HR practices.

Over 23 workshops and seminars focusing on concepts that have revolutionized Human Resources Management practices were organised as part of the event.

The workshops provided individuals and organizations with the knowledge and expertise to overcome corporate challenges that arise out of reduced budgets due to the global economic climate.

Held at the DKV Conference Centre from 10-13 May, the event attracted over 1,700 chief executives, HR directors, entrepreneurs, and engineers as well as IT, sales and customer care managers to share knowledge with their peers in an open environment that facilitates networking.

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village said, "The successful event highlights our intense commitment to strengthening the HR industry in Dubai and the region. Our world class business partners provided the latest developments in the sector, and we are confident the participants will significantly benefit from this edition of the Training Open Week."

Stephan Melchior, Managing Director and Skills Developer, Wilson Learning FZ LLC said, "It is the second year that Wilson Learning has been chosen to participate in the Training Open Week of Dubai Knowledge Village. Not only is this a great event organized to help business partners gain vital exposure, the real attractiveness is for businesses in Dubai to experience learning in a variety of topics that would not be possible otherwise. Thanks to the DKV team for all the efforts, we look forward to sharing our expertise to support this programme in its forthcoming editions."

Nick Petrie, Innovative HR Solutions said, "The important thing about the DKV events is that you get all these people coming together who are facing exactly the same challenges. How do we deal with the economic conditions? How do we handle our cultural challenges? How do we help our staff perform at their best and make sure they stay with us? And because of the range of industries, nationalities and experiences in the room, you get an amazing set of solutions that you can learn from and probably implement."

"For us at Innovative, the chance to facilitate sessions with groups of 50 to 100 people from different industries working at resolving a business challenge is a special experience. When you have that many people in the room and you get high levels of interaction going, the learning opportunities for us are immense," Nick added.

The workshops were offered by SUKAD, Potential, Greater Good, Orators, DBM Arabian Gulf Company, ETON Institute, Disruptive Play, SMG, ABAMI Consultancy and Training, Innovative HR Solutions, The Core Group, Demos Group, Dynamic Learning, Results Coaching Systems, The Quint Group, The British University of Dubai, Connected HR, Xpert learning, Executive Skills Training, Disruptive Play and Wilson Learning.

Issues such as innovation, developing high performing teams, leadership, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and managing change were discussed during the event.
