Al-Khaleej Insurance leads Doha market advances

The Doha Securities Market (DSM) extended its gains from previous days, closing 1.91% higher at 6,688.71 points. Al-Khaleej Insurances posted the largest gain (up 5.43%). According to George Oommen, Director Insurances and Reinsurances at the DIFC Authority in Dubai, GCC insurance operators benefit from the crisis since many firms realized that they were underinsured after neglecting basic assurances during the boom years. Market volumes were also higher, with 24,161,908 shares (plus 40%) changing hands at the DSM. A total of 33 shares gained, only two declined, and five closed steady.
