One of the most prominent figures in the Arab media world, Dr. Al Jarallah was greeted by Mr. Al Habtoor at his private residence in Dubai.

He was praised for the role that he plays in regional media, and for ensuring that his newspaper continuously portrays an accurate and balanced view of all events that affect the public interest.

"The media is the public's eye on the world" stated Mr. Al Habtoor "Al Seyassah has a well-earned international reputation for its impartial and objective reporting, under the very capable editorial leadership of Dr. Al Jarallah."

Both gentlemen exchanged views on the current economic situation in the region, and the outlook for the times ahead. "The current economic crisis has slowed the wheels of progress," emphasised Mr. Al Habtoor.

"Governments are now doing exactly what is needed, and spending from their reserves to get these wheels rolling again. Such situations are why reserves are created in the first place," he added.

They agreed on the many signs of economic stability in the region, and the strong potential that exists for continued medium and long term growth.

"Infrastructure is one of the best ways of measuring the development of a city. And Dubai has unarguably one of the most advanced and well-developed infrastructures of any city in the world. Continued investment is the key to ensuring that this leading position is consolidated and strengthened, as dying infrastructure cannot advance any modern city," said Mr. Al Habtoor.

Dr. Al Jarallah shared Mr. Al Habtoor's positive outlook towards the region, and in particular, the importance of maintaining a focus on identifying opportunities instead of being hampered by apparent hurdles.
