MBRCLD begins accepting applications for Young Leaders level

Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD) has announced that it has yesterday opened registration for prospective candidates for the new batch of Young Leaders level of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD).

MBRCLD also announced that aspiring leaders may submit their applications online through the MBRPLD website. Online registration will be available until the 7th of June, 2009.

The candidates applying for the Young Leaders level must meet the following eligibility criteria: be a UAE national; be a graduate from a recognized university; be between the age of 28-34; be known for his/her competence and effective achievement; be proficient in English and Arabic languages; and be acquainted with computer applications.

Adel Al Shared, Executive Chairman, MBRCLD, said, "The success achieved by the participants of the previous batch of Young Leaders program has generated substantial interest in this leadership development initiative and we are looking forward to receiving an overwhelming number of applications from potential participants over the coming weeks. This year we have formulated new modules that will help participants translate the knowledge they have gained into practical terms and in the process allowing them to be more productive leaders."

Young Leaders program is a level of Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development that aims to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops in line with the strategic plans and long-term aspirations of Dubai.

MBRPLD is one of the leadership programs of MBRCLD which has been established in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce to ensure the country's global sustainability.

The applications for the programs under Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development were submitted through MBRPLD's website. Further details of the programs and the evaluation process are also available on the website.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD):
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) is an innovative leadership program designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development in Dubai in line with Dubai Strategic Plan. Initiated in 2003 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, this long-term training program, consists of four programs: Promising Leaders, Young Leaders, Government Leaders, and the Director General Majlis Program.

The MBRPLD strategy, which involves meeting the needs of the public sector by preparing young nationals adequately to lead the UAE's future development initiatives, has been widely recognized for its pivotal role in the professional development of government leaders. The program has been bolstered by alliances with world-class institutions such as Duke Corporate Education and INSEAD, the business school of the world, in addition to regular visits by renowned international personalities from various fields who act as keynote speakers in the different forums and workshops organised by MBRPLD at various levels. The program has been designed to further develop participants' skills and widen their exposure to international leadership practices.

The program was launched in line with a long-term plan to ensure the continuous development of leaders in all governmental institutions; to ensure the development of leaders with world-class skills and expertise; to increase the ability to retain highly qualified employees; and to make good use of the experience and potential of current leaders.
