Orascom Telecom to sponsor Arabcom 2009

Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) is announced to be the main partner of the 11th annual Arab International Telecom Development Summit (Arabcom), taking place on the 28th and the 29th of May 2009 in Beirut, Lebanon.

Alfa, the Lebanese mobile operator managed by Orascom Telecom since February 1, 2009 will be exhibiting at the same summit.

The high-profile summit that is considered the most important assembly for the telecom industry in the Middle East attracts telecom ministers, regulators, investors, operators, industry leaders, experts, and service providers from across the globe.

Its sessions are meant to spotlight issues that are key to the development of the telecom sector and discuss the latest technologies, business models, network deployment and case studies.

Held this year under the title 'Broadband and Beyond - Broadband a necessity for Socio Economic development & Growth', Arabcom 2009 is chartered to witness a review of the latest developments in the industry.

Through its participation at Arabcom 2009, Orascom Telecom demonstrates its strategy to maintain itself as a major player in the global telecommunications market.

Mr. Naguib Sawiris, Chairman & CEO of Orascom Telecom, will be addressing the assembly as a keynote speaker in the opening ceremony on May 28th.

On behalf of Alfa, Mr. Samer Salameh, Alfa's CEO, will give a keynote aiming to cover the achievements of the company under Orascom Telecom's management.

At the two-day exhibition, Orascom and Alfa will be present at booth # 27& 28 that will showcase Orascom Telecom's presence on the Lebanese market and Alfa's new services.
