Daman's Regional Conference concludes with special focus on patient care and quality service

The second and concluding day of Daman's third Regional Conference, which has drawn over 900 experts in the fields of healthcare and health insurance for two days of workshops and lectures, concentrated on improving the healthcare industry standards in the region.
Healthcare experts also debated the challenges, experiences and critical success factors in achieving hospital accreditation.
Dr. Mohamed Ezzat Agamy, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Director of Daman's Network Department discussed Daman's evaluation standards set for healthcare providers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a measure to ensure quality healthcare services rendered to its customers.
Dr. Ezzat further stressed that the focus of the evaluation standards is to achieve substantial gains in all aspects of quality of care encompassing safety, clinical outcomes, the experiences of patients and families and the working environment of caregivers. He also highlighted the benefits of these evaluation standards in strengthening the community's confidence in the healthcare sector, encouraging providers to obtain accreditation and improving solid risk management whereby reducing risks and enhancing staff recruitment and development.
Highlighting the impact of the global crisis as part of the discussions on day two of the conference, Dr. Kassem Alom, Managing Director of Al Noor Hospital - UAE, lectured on the effects of the crisis on global health and health funding. Dr. Alom also emphasised the general impact of the economic crisis in the UAE health industry, challenges and the strategies required to face the challenges.
The conference featured discussion sessions and workshops to facilitate the exchange of global knowledge and expertise with industry members across the Arab world.
