Al Qasba undergoes various refurbishment projects in preparation for a busy summer

Al Qasba Development Authority has announced that it is currently undergoing a series of improvement and refurbishment projects that are intended to enhance the destination, facilities and experience for all of its visitors that are expected to rise as the summer season approaches.
The renovation that costs a total of Dhs6.5m is conducted on two separate phases. Phase one which was completed recently, included new flooring and décor work for the area surrounding Al Qasba Mosque, planting trees and flowers in the green areas, as well as adding beautifully designed fountains to enable the visitors to enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Al Qasba, the parking lot also witnessed major improvements, including shielding the area, to protect cars as well as the valet parking service that will soon be introduced, some architectural details were also added to the Al Qasba pedestrian bridge.
Phase two of the renovation is expected to be completed in two months and will include the refurbishment of Masrah Al Qasba (Theatre) and Maraya Al Qasba (Gallery) interior and overall design, and endowing them with state of the art technologies as well as restructuring the entrance to better fit Al Qasba's visitors.
"We will shortly conclude our two year renovation projects," said Ahmad Al Qaseer Business Development Director at Al Qasba Development Authority, "We are looking forward to welcome our visitors and celebrate the summer season with a whole new modern look for Al Qasba that maintains our traditional ambiance and is based on our Arabic and eastern culture and traditions."
"The main objective of the renovation and development projects was to merge the nature within Al Qasba, and add beautiful decorations, which we believe will contribute to the overall look and enrich the experience of its visitors of all ages," Al Qaseer added.
Al Qaseer also revealed that the coming years will also witness development projects that are now in planning stages and are aimed to further position Al Qasba as the top touristic destination in Sharjah and UAE.
Although this project will soon be completed, Al Qasba is currently preparing for additional development plans, as announced during the Arabian Travel Market. Al Qasba is planning to build a 5 stars hotel, a commercial and retail tower, and a multi story car park.
"There will be assorted revamping projects in the coming few years with which we aim to turn Al Qasba into an integrated tourist destination on the Sharjah and UAE level," concluded Al Qaseer.
