Discussion of 66 research projects at Ajman University Fifth Research Conference

The Council of Research, Information, and Training at Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST) held its Fifth Approach Student Scientific Conference with the participation of 115 female students presenting 66 research projects.
After assessing all the competing projects, Dr. Ahmed Ankit, AUST Vice-President for External Relations and Cultural Affairs, delivered an address on behalf of H.E. Dr. Saeed Abdullah Salman, in which he thanked the organizers of, and participants in, the conference and stated that this research event is an interpretation of one of the five fundamental components distinguishing the vision of the University.
He considered that holding a research conference in such continuity indicates that it has been successful.
He added, "Research is necessary for the development of every nation. We do believe that once students join the University, they become researchers who are able to produce rather than learn."
Dr. Ankit concluded by addressing the students, "I do believe you will have bright future, and it is important that you enjoy your research and do it for the sake of it."
As a token of appreciation and recognition, Prof. Yusuf Mahmoud and Dr. Omar Atef, Chairman and Secretary General of the Council of Research, Information and Training, presented gifts to the judges and the members of the jury, then announced the names of the winning students and the theme of their research.
The most intense competition was in the College of Dentistry where 19 research projects were presented. The winner was Ms. Alaa Al Raee for her research on 'Causes and patterns of orbital fractures in Sharjah'.
Ms. Khawla Khalifa's research, a student at the College of Education and Basic Sciences in AUST Fujairah Campus, was chosen among 12 research projects as the best research under the theme 'the Impact of TOEFL on Education'. The best research in the College of Engineering was themed 'Smart Sensor for remote Monitoring' prepared jointly by students Ms. Parisa Abdul Hamid, Ms.Raihana Mumtaj, Ms. Rabia Rafiq and Ms. Fahimeh Bashiri.
The best research in the College of Business Administration went to Ms. Israa Shaheen and Marwa Morhaf for their joint research on 'Reclassification of Financial Assets/Impact of Financial Crises'. Ms. Khoula Al Ghafli and Faten Shwedeh from the College of Information Technology were conferred the best research for their creative project 'Water Analyzer'.
The best research for the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities was awarded to Ms. Amna Al Humaidan for her research themed 'Animal Testing'. The winning research in the College of Law was themed 'Sabotage and Destruction Crimes/ Case Study of computer Crimes' made by Ms. Alyaa Al Shohhy.
The winning research in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences was 'Evaluation Breast Cancer Knowledge among Female Teachers in Governmental Schools in Ajman, UAE/ A Cross-sectional Study' prepared by a group of four students: Ms. Noor Arrabi, Ms. Heba Zohair, Ms. Marwa Bahaa, and Ms. Shaza Al Hamvi.
At the end of the conference, Dr. Omar Atef congratulated all the students on the scope and depth of their research and commended the dedication they have shown to increase the available knowledge in innovative topics.
