Muscat Private Hospital conducts open evening on cardiac surgery

Among many others, it is the first private hospital in the country to successfully conduct Cardiac Surgery.

The Cardiac Surgery Programme at MPH is a comprehensive programme that aims at the surgical correction of all types of cardiac disorders, and offers an extensive range of cardiac services. The many cardiac services provided at the MPH range right from coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, major blood vessel diseases, and surgical correction of congenital heart malformations. Thoraric and lung surgeries can also be performed.

While talking about the importance of correct diagnosis and treatment of cardiac problems, Gary Dorahy, Country Manager - OMPC and Hospital Director - MPH, explained,

Dr. Rami Neematullah, Consultant Cardiologist, Allied Diagnostics, spoke about CT Angiogram while Dr. Kadhim Jaffer, Consultant Cardiologist spoke on the importance of the role of the cardiologist in the patient pathway.

Dr Taha Al Delamie, Senior Consultant, Cardiothoracic Surgeon briefed the guests about the cardiothoracic services at MPH and Marianna Kotze, Clinical Business Unit manager - Critical Care Services & Ward explained the importance of patient safety, care and clinical outcomes.

"The aim of this evening is to familiarise people with the entire 'patient pathway'. In lay terms, the idea is to make people aware of what happens from the time you enter the hospital for a check up until recovery. Our cardiac surgery program is the first in the private sector to be approved by the Ministry of Health," informed Gary.

The guests were given a tour of the entire facility. MPH has the best and latest equipment to ensure successful surgery and post surgical recovery, and boasts of a 24-hour Critical Care Service that is available both before and after surgery. The postoperative cardiac services at MPH boasts of a 5-bed cardiac CCU, including fully operational medical and nursing staff.

Muscat Private Hospital is Muscat's premier private medical facility. Strategically located in Baushar, the Hospital provides first-class out-patient and in-patient facilities and all the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of an acute care hospital, including CT and MRI.
