ISNR Abu Dhabi platform highlighted at first international symposium on security measures

The project team from International Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi), the region's definitive event for homeland security and resilience, attended the recently concluded 1st International Symposium on Security Measures and Technical Solutions for Major Events and Expanding Cities, held in Abu Dhabi 18-20 May.

The symposium was held under the patronage of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Interior UAE and organized by the UAE Ministry of Interior (MOI), in collaboration with United Nations Regional Institute for Security and Justice (UNICRI).

Highlighting the excellent credentials established by the inaugural ISNR Abu Dhabi in 2008, Brigadier Saeed Al Hanki from the UAE Ministry of Interior said that Abu Dhabi had once again proven to the region's epicenter for hosting high-caliber international events, such as ISNR Abu Dhabi, thanks to the great support by the UAE's Leadership.

The MoI is the co-organizer of ISNR along with Reed Exhibitions Middle East.

"ISNR Abu Dhabi 2008 was an ideal platform for more than 7600 visitors from 54 countries, including high ranking official delegates from 16 countries such as Ministers of Interior from Bahrain, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, to network, share information and see first-hand the latest trends and developments in the security domain," Brigadier Al Hanki added.

Madyan Ayoush, ISNR Show Manager, expanded on the pivotal role played by ISNR 2008 stating that the show provided the most relevant showcase for security services and solutions for exhibitors, and an excellent platform to evaluate solutions.

"ISNR targets a large spectrum of the region's public and private sectors entities such as ministries, facility directors and purchasing managers for urban transport systems and government facilities, staff involved in management of security and emergency planning, operators and end-users of sensitive sites, business continuity managers, senior security buyers and technical specialists, insurance companies and law enforcement agencies, as well as system integrators and distributors", he explained.

ISNR Abu Dhabi 2010 will be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on March 1-3. Event is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, and supported by HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Interior UAE.

Exhibitors will showcase latest equipment, technologies and solutions for: intelligence and threat assessment, border and transport security, counter terrorism, critical infrastructure protection, emergency preparedness and response, crisis management and resilience.

ISNR Abu Dhabi 2010 will also feature a specialized conference held by well known speakers that will highlight challenges confronting governments and businesses.
