Fromagerie Bel celebrates 500 days record in safety measures in Egypt

The French group Fromagerie Bel celebrated five hundred consecutive days without accident on the 31st of March 2009, thanks to the dedication of its employees and managers in implementing security standards.

The celebration was with the participation of H.E. Mr. Yehia Abdel Meguid, the Governor of Sharkia, Mr. Abdel Hakam Mahmoud El Sayed, 10th of Ramadan Authorities Mayor, Mr. Hussein Abou Chenak, Director of security affairs in Sharkeya governorate.

Fromagerie Bel group is considered a key player in Egypt, with long term vision. It started its industrial activities in Egypt in 1998. It has around 1000 employees and is certified with HACCP and ISO 9000.

At present and after almost 11 years, with a huge investment in 2007 through the second brand new export factory inaugurated by the Egyptian Minister of Trade and industry, Bel Egypt facility is among the three most important factories of Bel worldwide.

Fromagerie Bel was founded in 1865 and is present today in more than 120 countries, through its famous international brands including La Vache Qui Rit, Kiri, Mini Babybel, Leerdammer, and Boursin, as well as numerous local brands.

The group that has more than 11.500 employees worldwide, motivated by the shared values of ethics, innovation, enthusiasm, competence, and cohesion, reported consolidated sales of more than EUR2bn euros in 2008.

Egypt is considered to be an important platform for Bel Group: the main export markets, which represent 70% of its business, are Africa & the Middle East.

According to its managers, it will continue to invest to strengthen its systems and methods, to develop people and to protect its assets as part of its principles and values, while sustaining high standards to satisfy its stakeholders. It has strong systems to provide top of the art equipments and top quality ingredients, for reaching high quality products fitting with the expectations of the worldwide consumer needs.
