Organized in cooperation with Emirates airline and the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the DSF Office delegation is being led by Ibrahim Saleh, Coordinator General. The road show also includes numerous participants from Dubai's retail, travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors.

Ibrahim Saleh commented that the road show was part of the Office's continuing endeavours to focus efforts on promoting Dubai in general and DSS in particular.

"The DSS road show across GCC is the result of close cooperation between government entities and a planned strategy to promote Dubai as a leading summer destination. These are challenging economic times but Dubai's government sector and private sector have come together to offer visitors a memorable, affordable, and an exciting holiday through unparalleled deals and packages this year."

"The GCC has been and remains a core market for DSS not only due to geographical proximity but also for the fact that we share the same values and cultural backgrounds. Hence, GCC visitors feel more or less at home while enjoying a summer holiday with international standards," he added.

Ahmed Khoory, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Gulf Middle East and Iran said: "Emirates is delighted to once again be taking part in the DSS road shows. These road shows provide a fantastic opportunity for us to inform key Middle Eastern markets about the incredible offers and events available during DSS. The DSS road shows have always proved successful in past years and we expect this year to be no different.

"Emirates has been a major sponsor of DSS since it was first launched in 1998, and we
are proud to actively support and promote this incredible event across the Middle East," he added.

Talal Khalifa Al Suwaidi, DTCM Head of India, Middle East and North Africa Section at Overseas Promotions said, "This road show is part of our efforts in working with government and private sector entities to promote Dubai and the many attractions that it offers to visitors. We consider the GCC as one of our main markets especially during the summer. Therefore, we do organize and attend numerous press conferences and workshops in the GCC."

DSS 2009 will be launched with the theme 'Surprising Dubai' that aims to highlight all the attractions of Dubai and those that the summer event will offer including some of the best shopping deals, world-class entertainment shows, prizes worth millions, and over 30 spas providing a rejuvenating experience.
