In line with this, the leading manufacturer is promoting the importance of sustainable design through its range of eco-friendly rubber insulation products, which are designed to meet the requirements of oil and gas, construction, shipping and automobile industries.

As a leading producer of rubber insulation in the Middle East region, RWI is fully equipped to meet the growing demand of the environmental market, which is made up of alternative energy, energy efficiency, water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management and green building technologies.

With key focus on insulation, air-conditioning, plumbing and heating, the company has been commissioned to undertake multimillion dirham projects for large-scale developments in the UAE such as 'Green Community West Villas and Apartments' as well as for high profile projects including 'Motor City', 'Traders Hotel', 'The Villa' and 'Horizon Tower'.

"The government's efforts to step up their initiative in developing their individual environmental markets is an effective strategy to further elevate the Middle East's status as the fastest growing economic region," said Abu Baker Shaikhani, Managing Director, Rubber World Industries, and Chairman of the Memon Group.

"As more organisations and individuals begin to understand and embrace the importance of environmental friendly products and sustainable design, we are confident that our products will play a significant role in the construction of more 'green buildings' in the region, which hopefully will lead to the establishment of the Middle East environmental market standards to be followed by all companies," he added.

In addition to its involvement with a number of 'green projects' through its collaboration with private developers, RWI also maintains strong support from the Ajman Government and the Ajman Chamber of Commerce amidst the continuous activities within the emirate's industrial sector.

Spurred by the growing demand for RWI products across the region's most important industries, the company has adopted a strategy to maintain continuous growth and expansion, the latest of which involved an Dhs30m investment to triple its production to 3,600 containers per year by 2013.

"While the availability of high quality materials that are suitable for 'green building' is a definite advantage to organisations and governments who seek to push this initiative, it is crucial to have a specialised body to oversee the practices of companies and ensure that 'green building codes' are followed," he added.

"It is not only companies, but the country as a whole that should invest into the achievement of sustainable environments. For our part, we have invested into the latest technologies and in high quality raw materials to produce insulation products that are eco-friendly and safe to the end-users," concluded Shaikhani.
