The handover ceremony was held in the Santini show villa at the Sales Centre, where the Indian Ambassador, HE Anil Wadhwa was the guest of honour and presented Mrs Kalwani and her family with the key to their new home.

Mala Kalwani, who has been living in Oman for the past 15 years, said that having a home of her own in the Sultanate was her dream. "My dream has become a reality and more importantly at The Wave, Muscat which understands and responds to the needs of customers and we are really looking forward to enjoying the peace of mind and the tranquility of what the project has to offer," she said.

"Investing in The Wave, Muscat is something that should not be undermined due to the support the project has from the government. Also, on-schedule completion of the various milestones is a reiteration of this world-class project and commitment to delivering on its promise," she added

Commenting on the event, HE the Indian Ambassador said: "I am thrilled to be able to be part of this momentous occasion - it is a very special day indeed both for Mrs Kalwani on receiving her new home, and for The Wave, Muscat as they celebrate the handover of the 100th property. The Wave, Muscat is the first major integrated resort and residential development undertaken in Muscat and the first project launched in Oman to offer freehold status to all purchasers both nationals and expatriates," he said.

"Oman is home to more than 500,000 Indians and having their own home at The Wave, Muscat is like having a home at their dream destination. I am delighted to see Indian families as a part of this multicultural community. The Wave, Muscat has indeed given a great opportunity for communities to share their different cultures and traditions."

he added.

Nick Smith, CEO, The Wave, Muscat said: "This is a significant milestone for the project. We are now handing over the keys of several properties each week to our customers and it is a very special moment to be able to hand over the keys for the 100th home to Mrs Kalwani and her family.

We have invested heavily in our customer service to home owners, right from the moment of purchase and also to those who have already moved into their homes at The Wave, Muscat. Ensuring customer confidence and satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.

We have established our leadership position in the market and we are currently positioned to become the new heart of Muscat. Over 800 properties in the sectors released to date have been sold and sales so far have exceeded $500m.

The demand for quality housing still remains high in Oman. Real estate investments are still the safest investments and The Wave, Muscat is simply the best location to buy a home in Oman."

This award winning development is being developed through a joint venture comprising Oman's Waterfront Investments (representing the Government of the Sultanate of Oman), National Investment Funds Company (representing Omani Pension Funds), and the UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Group.
