Helios Towers to take part in Arabcom International Telecom Summit in Lebanon

Engr. Fazal Hussain will be speaking at Arabcom Summit on day 2 of the Conference, 29th of May 2009, to discuss the benefits of infrastructure sharing in ICT development with the topic of Building Infrastructure for Convergence.

IPNX Limited a Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) licensed WIMAX operator providing data and broadband internet services and Helios Towers, the foremost provider of Infrastructure Sharing and Managed services to wireless operators, recently executed an agreement for massive network roll out nationwide involving over 500 tower sites by IPNX.

Helios has over 1000 sites nationwide and will provide end-to-end co-location services to IPNX including maintenance, managed services, and so on.

The agreement is in line with Government's effort at encouraging a robust national broadband penetration through the State Accelerated Broadband Initiative( SABI). The execution of the agreement marks the beginning of long-term cooperation between Helios and IPNX in the area of full telecommunications planning, network rollout and managed services to be executed in phases.

IPNX Nigeria Limited is a leading provider of infrastructure-based Telecommunications and Information Technology services here in Nigeria. Leveraging more than a decade of experience, the company was formed by the divestment of the telecommunications services division of Telnet Nigeria Limited and has been in operation for many years.

Helios Towers makes operators more successful by providing fully managed tower sites on a lease basis, reducing capital requirement and expediting their rollout. They offer, Co-location Managed Services and Backhaul services.

Helios Towers' Co-location Package includes Earthed tower prepared for mounting of antennas, dedicated environmentally cooled equipment shelters, Mains AC power with 2 x standby generators, Backup DC powers( Batteries and rectifiers), 24 x7 monitoring through remote NOC, 24 hours Site Security ,Site operation and maintenance, Site Insurance, 24 x 7 access for operator and Antenna installation services.
