Innovation 'is key' to future telco growth

The telecoms sector has not suffered as much as many other industries during the global downturn and is using this period to develop innovative offerings and services for current and future customers, said speakers at Mecom 2009 in Abu Dhabi. With mobile penetration high in the region, particularly because of its ethnic make-up, usage of mobile broadband was heralded as being likely to overtake that of fixed line broadband within a few years.
