Mohammed Al-Marzuqi, Director of Mobile Network Development at Mobily, reiterated Mobily's commitment to preserving the environment by pursuing energy-saving technology.

He said that Mobily was the first company to use the new Tower Tube in the region. Tower Tubes are environmentally friendly - a feature that is beneficial for Mobily, he added.

Khaled Jaidan, Sales Manager at Ericsson, assured that this innovative tower is part of Ericsson's commitment to meet the challenges of increasing demand for electricity and energy consumption and the preservation of the environment.

Jaidan remarked that for Ericsson the tower presents only a part of several initiatives that contribute to the future of sustainable development in the Middle East and across the world.

Focusing on the tower's public benefits, Jaidan said that the construction and the innovative format help rationalize the use of energy and protect the environment while contributing to a clear reduction of the operational costs of the tower.

The Tower Tube has an innovative design that includes base stations and antennas completely housed into the tower. The Tower Tube is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. It is made of flexible porcelain which is self-supporting. Therefore the environmental impact of the concrete is lighter than the traditional steel structure, thus resulting in 30% less emission of CO carbon dioxide during production and transportation.
