Etisalat offers outsourced ICT solutions for Middle East health care providers

This is the opinion of Etisalat's Business Solutions team who were participating in the Communications in Enterprise Forum at the Mecom Conference in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

"In the past, health care providers have been rated by the number and quality of their medical staff. This has created a gap between the level of service between neighboring countries, cities and even between hospitals in the same town,"

said Haider Khan, Business Development Manager - Business Solutions, Etisalat.

"With new advances in Information Communication Technology, it is possible to narrow the quality gap and in some cases, even enable new service providers to exceed the traditional benchmarks and develop a sustainable reputation for excellence."

During the conference, Haider explained the concept of eHealth and the benefits that the world of connected health care can deliver. He also highlighted the excellent work of the UAE's health care providers in offering excellent health care and helping to support the development of the nation.

Haider made special reference to the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and their approach to integrated health care. The HAAD is using an outsourced contact centre solution from Etisalat, and is also using technology to drive demand of services and follow up with patients.

"The benefit of integrating ICT into health care systems is immeasurable. It is potentially the value of one or more lives - it is priceless. And it doesn't stop at better treatment. It also helps to reduce costs, helping to bring the price of medicine and healing to a more accessible level," Haider continued.

Etisalat's Business Solutions team is participating in Mecom this week helping health care providers to find the best solutions and to develop a roadmap for the introduction of new services into their business. This takes into account the investment required for the initial implementation and also the ongoing maintenance of the system.

"Installing an ICT-based solution does not need to be complicated. Health care providers should not put off their decisions through a lack of understanding or knowledge of technology.
