The overall grades are well above national averages for the CBSE examinations, highlighting the leading position of GEMS Schools in ensuring top academic performance.
The highest of score is 95.8% and was attained by Cutee Bhalla, a student of Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Girls). Cutee is the Gulf and UAE topper in the Commerce stream. Another GEMS student, Rabiya Fahma from Our Own English High School- Dubai, also topped the UAE in the Humanities stream, scoring 91.4% marks.
All set to pursue higher studies in management at the Warwick University in London, Cutee Bhalla said: "It was a double surprise knowing that I topped the UAE as well as the region."
Other high achievers in the Commerce stream include, Krishnasruthi Srivalsan, from Our Own English High School- Sharjah; and Amitha Thomas from Our Own Indian School both scoring, 94.8%. Migita D'cruz and Lakshmi Balasubramaniam, two students also from Our Own English High School- Dubai, topped their school in the Science stream with 95.4 and 94.8 scores respectively.
For her board exams, Cutee Bhalla started preparing eight weeks in advance for six to seven hours daily. She has been studying at Our Own English High School, Sharjah since Kindergarten. She enjoys reading, writing and has been involved in many student leadership activities at school.
GEMS Asian schools that follow the CBSE curriculum include Our Own Indian School, Our Own English High School- Dubai, Our Own English High School- Al Warqa'a, The Millennium School, Our Own English High School- Sharjah (Girls), Our Own English High School- Sharjah (Boys), Our Own English High School- Al Ain and Our Own English High School- Fujairah.
