Bahrain will have a national pavilion comprising Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), Gulf Aluminum Rolling Mill Co. (GARMCO) and Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA).

Bahraini delegates will officially represent the Kingdom at one of the central events of the international aluminium community.

"Bahrain's presence in Aluminium China 2009 demonstrates the great importance attached by the Kingdom to trade exhibitions that engage the interest of thousands of decision-makers, buyers and influencers from the international aluminium community,"
says His Excellency Dr. Hassan A. Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of the Board of Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA).

"As Bahrain's designated lead organisation for Aluminium China 2009, we take great pleasure in facilitating business and networking opportunities for Bahraini downstream aluminium companies at this premium global event," he added.

According to Dr. Fakhro, Bahrain's participation in the trade show is also testament to the Government's commitment to developing one of the country's high-growth industries.

BECA's participation in China is in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to promote Bahrain as a business destination by capitalising on platforms such as international, specialised trade shows with a focus on the aluminum industry.

Aluminium is one sector that the Government of Bahrain is paying particular attention to because of the phenomenal growth experienced by this sector since a consortium of international aluminum users first chose Bahrain as the location for an aluminium smelter in May 1968.

Anticipated to be the world's largest aluminium gathering for 2009, Aluminium China 2009 is part of the globally-renowned Aluminium brand of events organised by Reed Exhibitions. It is expected to attract over 350 exhibiting companies from around 30 nations such as China, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Italy, Norway, France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Kingdom of Bahrain and Malaysia. Over 10,000 decision makers, buyers and influencers from 90 countries around the world are expected to attend the Shanghai event.
