Diyar Al Muharraq sponsors seminar at the Bahrain Society of Engineers

The seminar, entitled "Role of Engineering Profession Regulatory Bodies in National Development", was held under the patronage of His Excellency Fahmi Bin Ali Al Jowder, Minister of Works and the Minister in charge of the Electricity and Water Authority, and sponsored by Diyar Al Muharraq, one of Bahrain's largest mixed-use master-planned developments.

The event was organized by the Association of Consulting Engineers in Pakistan, and attended by a group of senior specialists in the field of engineering consultancies from both Bahrain and Pakistan.

The key note address was delivered by Chairperson of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Eng. Senator Rukhsana Zuberi, in which she discussed the roles which various engineering bodies can play in national growth and development.

Also on the agenda were presentations by Chairman of the Committee of Engineering Professional Practice (COEPP) Eng. Mohammed Khalil Al Sayed on the role of the COEPP in the Kingdom of Bahrain, President of the United Nations' and International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Technical Consultancy Development Program for Asia and Pacific Countries Eng. Karamat Ullah Chaudry on the role of PEC regulations in promoting the consultancy sector, as well as Convener of PEC Acts and Bye-laws Committee Eng. Mazhar-ul Islam in regulating the engineering profession.
