Arif - the mascot of ITA launched today at Comex 2009

The new mascot of ITA - Arif was launched by Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA at the 2nd Government e-Services exhibition of Comex 2009.
Arif - the wise character is portrayed as a young Omani who is always willing to explore new ways using technology. Arif is an active knowledge seeker, enthusiastically adopting new technologies and he champions the use of electronic services.
He is the spokes person of ITA breaking the ice between the people and technology and communicating the purpose of ITA, the eServices project that are available in Oman and help the community use them easily.
In simple words he communicates ITA's key messages to the common public and leads the way for people to embrace eCulture by using eServices and other modern technology as part of their lifestyle.
Arif will explain basic concepts and use more visual elements to communicate to the public complex features of technology and bridge the gap between the literate and illiterate masses. He educates the people about various functional benefits of using technology and also guides them to use electronic services offered by the government sector.
Arif will play a significant role in the creation of the knowledge society of Oman reaching out to masses in the language they can understand and relate to their own enhancement in life.
Arif's approach to solving common problems in our lives is modern, innovative and progressive showing the people that is always a better way to get our daily chores done quickly and much more efficiently using technology.
Arif himself pioneers a e-lifestyle and leads the way for others to follow and eventually create the knowledge society of the Sultanate.
